I thoroughly enjoyed this book and cared about the characters. Wonderful descriptive work and the writing was full of emotion. My only criticism is that it could use quite a bit of editing. I usually have very little patience for a poorly edited book and hit the delete button after a couple of pages. The story was so good that I actually read the whole thing. The typos were odd...like it was edited with an auto-correct program. Letters were dropped, or similar words used that had no relevance. ('thing' and 'think' were used interchangeably) My advice to the author would be to get this corrected before moving on to more books. The story was well-crafted and unique. I polished it off in 3 evenings and wanted more. I would recommend this book, editing glitches and all. Lionel and Kathryn's journeys were touching and gritty at the same time, with surprising personal growth. I enjoyed the trip.Product details

This is a great read for anyone who enjoys good fiction. John Randall is an up and coming author whose work all fiction lovers should follow closely. Highly recommended and well worthy of five stars.
Okay...I DID get tired during the beautifully done detail of every project. Took me almost a month to read...(I have other things in my life). The characters were real and interesting..I'm anxious to hear how Katherine and Jonathan continue their lives. Certainly did a great research job, john...one distracting part of the read was the number of misspells and dropped letters. Also could not read Katherine's "thoughts" in ??? Magenta??? Too dark ..couldn't read..but I do have very dry eyes. So could just be me..anyway. It is a good read...worth the month it took to read!!!
I gave up @ 45% into the story. Too many misspellings (at least one per page), the 'talking in my head of Lionel' is very odd for this semi-nonfiction story, and we haven't met anyone named Jonathan yet. It was hard slugging through the tribulations of Kathyrn (and she didn't learn!). I gave up.
